“Robin & Steve, Thank you both so much for your hospitality during our wedding weekend. From the time we called to reserve the Lodge until we checked out on Sunday – you both answered all of our questions, helped whenever you could, and made our weekend a memorable success! Looking forward to moving up to Grand Lake and more pancake breakfasts!”

“Dear Robin: Our visit to Presque Isle Lodge was the highlight of our summer. We are looking forward to being there again next season. Enclosed is the book we told you about. Our friend, Tom, had a wonderful collection of boats. Unfortunately, he passed away several years ago. Looking forward to visiting you again.”

“Hello Presque Isle Lodge! Thanking you for a very nice stay in your Lodge! We had a wonderful time and the Lodge, it’s surroundings and the family owners and host were just what we were hoping for!! Thank you for your hospitality! We’d come back tomorrow if we could but reality has sucked us back into our real lives. Here is the recipe for the English Muffin Bread as promised. Enjoy and be sure to share a piece with Tigger too!! We can see you all setting around the fire sharing a slice of warm bread with honey or preserves talking about yesterday, today, and tomorrow! We were very fortunate to find your hidden gem.”

Sincerely, Mike & Kathleen Kamptner. (2016)

“The Lodge:… straight from my heart. Thank you so much for letting us get in early to decorate and for all your hard work in moving all those tables! We appreciate everything you did for us to make this special day everything we wanted.”

“Dear Robin & Laurie, Thank you for your warm welcome Friday night – with all you were doing already you both still had the energy & generosity to welcome us into your lodge. You made us feel welcome & comfortable. The wedding was the most romantic loving wedding I’ve ever attended – your family is great.”

“Pam Kurylowicz and Justin Jackson wedding July 14, 2012.  Ceremony was held on the Lodge grounds with Lotus Pond in the background. Robin, his staff and the facility were just outstanding! What a glorious weekend. A party and setting to remember for a lifetime! I would recommend it to anyone seeking this atmosphere. Bill Jackson, father of the groom.”

“Held a 50th anniversary there this weekend – these people rock! They were patient with those that didn’t deserve it, always there to lend a welcome hand when it wasn’t expected, had a smile on their face and made us feel like part of their wonderful family while making our party the best! I love this place!!”

“Thank you, Robin & Laurie, for hosting our daughter’s wedding at your lodge. It really meant a great deal to her as it was always her dream to marry at the lighthouse and have a reception at The Lodge. Thanks for everything you did to make it such a great evening for everyone, including us.”

“Dear Robin:  Thank you so much for your kindness and generous hospitality during our four night stay at the B & B Lodge. It’s not everyday that a proprietor will take new guests on a personal boat ride. It was extremely nice of you to reach out to us on that level. Also, thank you for returning my ring. I don’t understand how it could simply appear under or on a throw rug. I picked up all rugs in every room and shook them out many tines. I also used a flash light and checked every corner. But, I am happy to have it back. Once, again, thank you for everything. Have a great birthday. “Hello” to Dean-o for us. Thanks to Sharon for her effort in locating the ring too!”

“Robin and Laurie: Wow! What a place. We just wanted to say thank you so very much for a wonderful vacation full of memories we’ll have forever. The “Bed & Breakfast” was the perfect spot to celebrate 12 years with the Walled Lake Western gang. We are truly looking forward to next year! Everything was awesome but we must say the “breakfast” every morning was wonderful! What a nice way to wake up on a relaxing vacation. Hope your wedding was fun! See you next July.”

“Robin, Either you or your brother showed me a picture that you took of Linette & Jeff’s wedding cake, but the top was not on yet. So I am sending you a picture I took with the top on! I’m glad they chose the lodge for their wedding reception. So much character!”

Blessings, Janet M Anderson

“Just a quick note of thanks for all your hospitality and generous care during Steve and Sandra’s wedding. We enjoyed the Lodge and its uniqueness. What a great setting and a great time. We can’t thank you enough for the lodging and the meals. Our Grand kids talked not only about the trampoline but the boat ride. We hope we didn’t leave you too big of a mess. Thanks again.”

“Dear Robin & Laurie, We just wanted to say thank you for all your hospitality and letting us have our wedding at Presque Isle Lodge. It really was the perfect spot for our wedding – we couldn’t have asked for a better day. We appreciate so much everything you and your staff did to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Thank you for being so flexible and accommodating – the Lodge is a really wonderful spot and I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed having the wedding there! Again, thank you so much!”

“Dear Mr. Spencer, I wanted to thank you again for the wonderful hospitality our family received at the Presque Isle Lodge back in early September. Ours was the Cliff Robert’s family reunion, for his 90th birthday celebration. Cliff is my grandfather, and I know he truly appreciated the event. My three children and I were among those who came from Ohio and stayed in the upstairs rooms. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the accommodations were gorgeous! I meant to leave a copy of this CD with you before we left, but I forgot. So here it is now, as a Christmas gift! It is a collection of original songs which were mostly written by my husband, Chris. I hope you enjoy it, and I pray that the Lord will bless you & your family in the year to come.”

In Christ Jesus, Erika Sammond (12/20/2008)

“Dear Robin, This thank you is a bit overdue. I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed being at the Lodge this summer for our family reunion and parents’ 50th Anniversary party. It was the perfect place, and I know everyone had a really great time. You and your staff were so hospitable and the breakfasts were delicious. I noticed how everyone managed to make it down to breakfasts on time every day – not something our family is noted for. My parents were very happy with the 50th party and having a chance to be with so many long-time friends. I’m sure we will be back again for another reunion in the next couple of years. I’ve enclosed a photo with my parents’ life size cutout. You mentioned you’d like a photo of that. Have a good off season and perhaps we’ll be back for a few days next summer.”

Best Regards, Susan

“Robin ~ Hello. I just wanted to say thank you for renting the Lodge to me for my bridal shower this past Sunday. My shower turned out great and I enjoyed having it there. I had many comments on the Lodge and I think that my family/friends thought it was a great place–none of them had ever been there before. So, thank you very much for letting us use your facility and everything else!”

“Dear Mr. & Mrs. Spencer, What a lovely surprise to be treated to breakfast on our recent tour of the Presque Isle Lodge B & B Inn with A.LL. I thoroughly enjoyed learning the history of the lodge, being able to tour the Inn and being treated to breakfast. Several years back, I had toured the Lodge (Grand Lake Home Tour?), but was totally amazed at the work you’ve done. It’s beautiful! Thank you so much for a wonderful morning.”

Sincerely, Gloria Gohl

“Wow – This is late I know ! Its hard to believe Aryn is now married and living in Everett, WA! After their honeymoon up in the U.P., they came to Lansing, packed the U-Haul & moved across the country. Last weekend they flew back to Lansing for the reception for family & friends here. It was a whirlwind trip. Tim’s mother put together a masterpiece video from start to finish that I would love to show you sometime! It highlights the lodge inside & out and is a wonderful reminder of the memorable celebration. This note is to thank you for your making all of it happen! My mother was a witness to all that unsurpassed past, present & future. Few weddings are so special! Gary was able to give a short history of Presque Isle & the lodge at the reception so others could sense our “awe”. I heard many compliments on the lodge – both my in-laws (Tim’s family) and Gary & I & friends were pleased with our rooms and the delicious breakfast provided. It was a perfect way to centralize everything for the 2 nights & 2 days up to and following the wedding. Also it was an ideal place for the reception! Your generosity was greatly appreciated! Have a great winter! “

“Dear Robin & Laurie, We had a great time last weekend! We can’t thank you enough for your generosity!  We loved Presque Isle! Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day. We climbed the old light house, visited the quarry, went to the potato fest craft show, and bought apple cider at Knaebe’s Mmmuchy Krunchy Apple Farm and Cider Mill (and I did all the driving…missed six deer). But, by far the Lodge was the best of all. Breakfast was GOOD! (I loved having Robin cook for me). Steve was a gracious host and fun to talk to. It was the best 2nd honeymoose we have ever had! Thanks once again.”
